Frequently Asked Questions

What does a wealth management firm do?

At Frizzell Wealth Management we help individuals and families manage their finances and plan for the future. This can include tax-efficient investing, retirement planning, inheritance tax planning and protection.

Our aim is to give our clients clarity and confidence that they are making informed financial decisions to build a strategy that help supports their long-term goals.

Do I need a Financial Adviser?

It is a myth that financial advice is just for the wealthy. You may benefit from speaking to a Financial Adviser if your finances are becoming more complex, or if you would like professional support with decisions such as investing, retirement planning or reducing your tax burden.

A Financial Adviser can help you create a structured plan around your goals, identifies opportunities you may not have considered, and provide ongoing support as your life and circumstances change. Many people find that professional advice can provide significant value, both financially and through peace of mind.

Is financial advice only for wealthy people?

No. Financial advice can benefit anyone looking to organise their finances, plan for the future or make more informed financial decisions.

Many clients begin seeking advice while building their wealth rather than after they have accumulated it.

What services does Frizzell Wealth Management offer?

We offer a comprehensive range of financial planning services, including:

  • Investment planning and savings strategies
  • Retirement income planning
  • Pension planning
  • Inheritance and estate planning
  • Long-term care planning
  • Protection planning (life cover, income protection, critical illness cover)
  • Family financial planning

Every recommendation is tailored to your personal circumstances and objectives — we do not offer one-size-fits-all solutions.

Is Frizzell Wealth Management regulated?

Yes. Frizzell Wealth Management is an Appointed Representative of St. James's Place, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

This means we operate under strict professional standards, and you benefit from the protections that FCA regulation provides, including access to the Financial Ombudsman Service and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).

What is St. James's Place?

St. James's Place (SJP) is one of the UK's largest and most established wealth management companies, with over 30 years of experience.

Frizzell Wealth Management operates as an Appointed Representative of St. James's Place, meaning we offer their investment products and benefit from their infrastructure, research and compliance framework — while providing the personal, local service of an individual Practice.

Can you help with inheritance tax planning?

Yes. Inheritance tax (IHT) planning is an important part of long-term wealth management.

We help clients understand their potential IHT exposure and put strategies in place to help pass more of their wealth on to the people and causes they care about. This might include the use of trusts, gifting strategies, pension planning and tax-efficient investment wrappers. Every plan is tailored to your unique family circumstances.

About your first meeting:

Where will our meetings take place?

We work with clients across South Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas from our main office in Wallingford. We also hold meetings in Henley-on-Thames, London and online via Zoom.

Our meeting locations:

  • Wallingford (main office) — 1 St. Mary's Court, Wallingford, OX10 0EB
  • Henley-on-Thames — 45 Station Road, Henley-on-Thames, RG9 1AT
  • London — 3 Moorgate Place, London, EC2R 6EA
  • Online — via Zoom, for clients anywhere in the UK

What should I expect in the first meeting?

Your first meeting is a relaxed, no-obligation conversation. We will ask you some questions about your current financial situation, your concerns and your goals for the future to fully understand how we may be able to help.

We will also talk you through how Frizzell Wealth Management works, the range of services and investment products available through St. James's Place. Initial meetings typically last between one and one-and-a-half hours, depending on the complexity of your situation.

Is what I share in my meeting kept confidential?

Yes, everything you share with us is completely confidential. Your personal data is protected and handled in accordance with data protection regulations.

What do I need to bring to my initial meeting?

It helps to have a general picture of your financial situation ready, but you do not need to have everything perfectly organised. Useful information to gather in advance includes:

  • Details of any existing pensions (workplace or personal)
  • Details of any savings, investments or ISAs
  • Any existing protection policies (specialist insurance, income protection etc.)
  • A rough idea of your monthly income and outgoings
  • Any outstanding debts or mortgage details

Do not worry if you are missing some of this — we can work through it together.

How often do clients meet with their Adviser?

Clients meet with their Adviser at least once a year to review their financial plans and make sure that they are still aligned to their circumstances. However, our Advisers are on hand whenever a client needs them and meetings can occur more frequently depending on circumstances.

Regular reviews help ensure your financial plan continues to reflect your goals and changing life events.

Working With Us

Why do clients work with us?

Our clients work with us for different reasons. Some work with us because they do not have time to manage their own financial plan, others do not have the expertise or the inclination.

Our goal is to give clients the confidence to invest and help cut through the jargon. By doing the technical thinking, our Advisers help their clients make financial decisions that are not driven by emotion and support their unique long-term goals.

Having a trusted Adviser brings clarity and reassurance knowing that whatever happens, they are there to offer guidance and support. This can help reduce stress and make informed decisions that help to turn disposable income and excess cash into wealth, protecting and growing your assets, and helping reduce tax over your lifetime – both for you and future generations.

We meet with our clients at least once a year to ensure they are on track to achieve their financial goals.

We are always available whenever you have a question or need financial advice.
